Beginning Samba (11/2, 11/9, 11/16)

Samba is a fun, high-energy dance. It is perfect for both beginners and experienced alike, as though the basic is simple, there’s always more to improve on!

The 1st and 3rd lesson in this series will be guest taught by Michelle and Bumchin, 3 time national youth champions in Latin. Chris, our coach, will teach the 2nd lesson as our guest teachers will be competing for this years’ nationals!

The Samba originated in Brazil. It is danced as a festival dance during celebrations. The festive style and mood of the dance has kept it alive and popular to this day. Samba is a fun dance that fits many of today’s popular songs that typically have a very distinct bass line. Many figures, used in the Samba today, require a pelvic tilt action.
